Dr. Daniela A. Bota MD, PhD

Dr. Daniela A. Bota is an internationally recognized physician-scientist, neuro-oncologist, clinical researcher, and medical innovator whose groundbreaking work has helped advance the treatment of some of the most challenging diseases affecting the human brain. As Chief Scientific Advisor for At Your Best Human Performance Institute, she provides scientific leadership across brain health, longevity medicine, regenerative therapies, neuroscience, and human performance optimization.

A board-certified neurologist and neuro-oncologist, Dr. Bota has dedicated her career to bridging the gap between laboratory discovery and clinical application — transforming emerging breakthroughs into real-world treatments that improve both lifespan and healthspan while advancing the understanding of cognitive performance, neurological resilience, and regenerative medicine.

Born and educated in Romania, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. She earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California, completed Neurology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and a competitive Neuro-Oncology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

She holds numerous leadership positions within the University of California system, including Vice Dean for Clinical Research at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, Professor of Neurology, Director of the UCI Alpha Stem Cell Clinic, Clinical Director of the Sue & Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center, and Medical Director of the UCI Health Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program.

Internationally recognized for her expertise in brain cancer, Dr. Bota specializes in primary and metastatic brain tumors, glioblastoma, and advanced neurotherapeutics. She has served as principal investigator for numerous FDA-regulated clinical trials involving cellular therapies, cancer vaccines, targeted oncology agents, and regenerative medicine, and has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts.

Her honors include multiple Orange County Medical Association Physician of Excellence awards, Orange Coast Magazine Top Doctor recognition, the UCI Dean’s Physician Award, and National Cancer Institute clinician awards.
